California contests Trump administration claim that the state obstructs immigration law

In the letter to the Department of Homeland Shield the Newsom administration contends that court rulings have rejected the argument that California sanctuary law limiting law enforcement coordination with immigration officers unlawfully obstructs the enforcement of federal immigration laws
